I discovered yoga while working for an IT company in India. Seven years into my job, I was burnt out, disillusioned by the corporate world, and looking for something more meaningful. There was a studio nearby where I began taking classes. It started with five days a week; I was a daily student. Very quickly, I realized my yoga was more satisfying & fulfilling than any other activity of my day. I would provide me immense peace of mind.
I got my first official training from the oldest center of Yoga in the world, “The Yoga Institute", situated in Mumbai, India. It offered a 900 Hours of Advance Teacher Training in Yoga Education. I joined initially out of personal interest, but by the end of the first month, I had already given notice at my job and made plans to make yoga my career, not just my hobby. I’ve trained with leading yoga, anatomy, and philosophy teachers. My hunger for diving deep into the waters of Yoga took me to Mysore, where I was trained by Dr. Balasundara Srinatha, an award-winning teacher.
For me, yoga is about movement, breathe, stillness & mindfulness. In my class, you will engage in to understand your body, the way it moves and the way we use it. My classes combine strength & mobility work in ashtanga & vinyasa flow style, going deep into the stretches in hatha style and breathing practices in form of Pranayama.
