Mona Farm and Historic Home

Mona Farm and Historic Home is a luxury heritage venue with old worlde English charm that has recently re-opened after extensive renovations. Mona has a strong focus on offering a complete service and sourcing locally as much as possible, and has a 5 star chef exclusive to the venue. The magnificently restored buildings with luxury self contained accommodation, restored woolshed events venue and beautiful award winning grounds are the ideal location for weddings, corporate events, retreats and exclusive dinners.

One of Braidwood’s oldest homes, Mona is part of the original holdings granted to Thomas Braidwood Wilson, a medical officer with the British Navy. The western section of the property was resumed to form the town of Braidwood in 1939. The remaining 124 acres is noted for its historically significant buildings including the original stables, coach house, homestead and woolshed.

Mona is also nearing completion of the restoration of almost 8 acres of gardens containing an original quadrangle of elms planted by Thomas Braidwood Wilson, an avid gardener, who also introduced two exotic plants to Australia; Virburnum Tinnus (snow ball trees) and three varieties of lilacs.
