Melbourne Polytechnic is one of the largest and most successful providers of vocational education and training and higher education in Australia, delivering excellence for over 100 years. The institute’s long history reflects the rise of vocational education in Victoria over the course of the twentieth century and into the new millennium. Throughout the last decade, Melbourne Polytechnic has adopted pathways and progressive programs, presenting students with a career-focused holistic learning experience.

Melbourne Polytechnic gives you the best of both worlds, the theoretical learning of a university with the hands on approach of vocational learning. This rigorous and rich environment allows you to pinpoint your exact career right up to degree level in most cases. With a polytechnic, particularly at Melbourne Polytechnic, you are getting a wide range of courses at different levels of accreditation.

Offering Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates, Melbourne Polytechnic is the first vocational training institution to offer contemporary education in Victoria, providing direct pathways to degree level, with industry and professional career-focused programs in the arts, social and related behavioural sciences, engineering, education and natural sciences and technology, engaging students through applied learning and theory.

Melbourne Polytechnic welcomes international students! Courses available to international students are nationally accredited under the Australian Quality Framework (AQF) in accordance with the Education for Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) legislative framework and registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). All courses are recognised internationally.

With a predominance in Melbourne’s expanding northern corridor, Melbourne Polytechnic campuses can be found in Preston, Epping, Heidelberg, Fairfield, and Collingwood and we march south too, with a campus in Prahran in High Street, just off the main drag of Chapel Street.
