Mansfield District Race Club

Mansfield is recognised for its iconic mountain horse men and women and is one of Australia's largest recreational horse riding regions. It is no surprise that the township also has a love affair with horse racing, dating back 160 years.

Known as Ned Kelly country, the Mansfield district has a rich history when it comes to horses and horse racing. The area’s first recorded race was held in 1855. In 1869, The Mansfield Jockey Club was formed and in 1930, the Mansfield Jockey Club was relocated to its present site on Benalla Road, hosting its first race meet in 1932.

Mansfield District Racing Club hosts the Mansfield Melbourne Cup on the Melbourne Cup Day holiday and the Mansfield Cup now to be held in the month of April.  We also host the Tenors on the Turf event in March each year. The club is also available for functions and events.
