John XXIII Student Experience Officer- P: 02 6125 6900 E:

John XXIII College was established at the Australian National University in 1967 and is affiliated by statute with the ANU.  It was one of the earliest University Colleges at the ANU and, along with Burgmann, is the only other independent College on the campus.  All other residences are known as Halls or Lodges and are operated by the ANU or the UniLodge Consortium.

John XXIII College is an incorporated company owned by the Dominican Order of Priests who have been involved in university life since the early days of the order in the late 13th century.

The College is administered by a Board of Directors who employs the Head of College (Chief Executive Officer) to manage the day to day operation of the College.

The College’s primary aim is to provide accommodation for students studying at the ANU, in an environment which provides support and encouragement such that they graduate with a balanced outlook on life consistent with the values expressed in the Gospels and by the Dominican Order.
