Jill Briggs, Rural Training Initiatives

Jill Briggs has been working with rural industries and communities since 1985 when Jill first commenced working in education as a secondary teacher.  Jill then moved into the tertiary / vocational sector for 13 years. During this time Jill furthered her studies from Bachelor of Education to a post graduate diploma in Adult learning. She also began carving a consultancy profile with primary industries. During this time Jill worked with rural communities throughout Victoria and worked extensively with the Australian Dairy, Seafood, Citrus and Sugar industries.

While consulting Jill increased her qualifications through the Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training; Certificate Handling Conflict and Certificate - Rural Boards Management. Jill also attended a number of fora at an international and national level including the International Agricultural Women's Conference. Jill was awarded the regional winner of the Rural Woman of the Year and most recently was selected to attend the 2020 Summit.??Jill is also partner in a primary production business in Northeast Victoria, Australia. She lives in a small rural community west of Rutherglen - Norong. Jill's vision is to be part of a team that provides rural communities and industries with skills for the future.

In her professional capacity as a consultant Jill develops a strong structure for all the projects she manages and programs she facilitates. Jill sets clear outcomes and a strong sense of purpose is generated at the commencement of all activities. Her enthusiasm for seeing people increase their personal capacity permeates all the programs she has facilitated during her highly successful career.

She is a caring communicator and thoughtful negotiator ensuring all participants arrive at a new stage of growth by the conclusion of any workshop or program. Over the years Jill has received personal feedback and key descriptors provided are - inspirational, powerful, networker, motivator and fun. Some have mentioned she is prone to swearing when over-enthused. People who have participated in activities managed and facilitated by Jill regularly acknowledge that the event is successful due to her drive and strong work ethic and her communication and knowledge-sharing ability.
