Haines hold a degree in Master in Management (Arts and Culture), Master in Business Information Mgmt., Graduate Certificate in Education (Adult & Vocational Learning), Graduate Certificate in Archival and Preservation Mgmt., Bachelor in Fine Arts (Textile & Surface Designer) and Diploma in Community Cultural Development.
A prolific artist, practicing professionally for over 12 years and exhibiting extensively around South Australia, interstate and juried art shows digital group exhibitions in London and in the USA. Haines works predominantly in the medium of wearable textile and fibre art which includes costume design installations.
Jelina Haines was announced a winner for the 2013 Advantage South Australia Regional Awards in the Arts Category for the Barossa Region in South Australia. Accolades of Nominations under her belt which includes a Commendation and Finalist awards received from the Advantage SA Awards Regional South Australia for her community arts contribution. She was also awarded the 2013 Gawler Art Trail People Choice SALA Arts Award. Also, in 2012 she was announced as a People Choice Arts Award Winner at the Top of the Torrens Gallery for the hand felted framed work 'Flanders Field'. In addition, she was also a nominee for the Ruby Awards 2013 (South Australia’s Art and Cultural Awards).
At international level, she was a Finalist in the Juried Art Award Competition in Long Beach, NY, USA and Juried Art Competition in London.
Jelina Haines artworks are held in private and public collections in Australia, UK, New Zealand, Japan, USA, Canada, Malta, Cairo Egypt, Sweden, Russia and The Philippines. She mainly works in regional areas in particularly with the Indigenous Community at the Coorong in South Australia.
