International Association of Hydrogeologists, Western Australia Branch.

The Western Australia Branch of IAH has been active since the early 1980s and has the worlds highest concentration of members (about 150 WA Branch members).

Each month the WA Branch hosts a technical meeting which attracts 30 to 50 scientists while the annual seminar usually gathers around 160 delegates. A field trip is usually organised each year which attracts up to 60 members.

The WA Branch is also a strong supporter of the Early Careers Hydrogeologists Network (ECHN), a subsidiary of IAH.


The International Association of Hydrogeologists is a professional association for those within disciplines related to groundwater, its occurrence, utilization, testing and management.

IAH is a scientific and educational organisation that is truly international and was established to foster closer ties, cooperation and information exchange related to the study of groundwater.

IAH is non-government and non-profit and has over 3500 members internationally in more than 130 countries.
