Hellenic Lyceum Sydney
The Hellenic Lyceum- Sydney Bureau (Lykion ton Ellinidon) was founded in 1951 and is a charity organisation dedicated to the promotion of the Greek culture.
Lykion ton Ellinidon originated in Athens, Greece in 1911 and is now an international organisation. The Hellenic Lyceum-Sydney Bureau was the first branch of the Lyceum to be founded outside of Greece. The main aim of the organisation is to promote Greek traditions and culture through Greek dance, costumes, jewellery and embroideries.
Since 1951 the Hellenic Lyceum-Sydney Bureau assisted many charitable causes through functions, dances and presentations.
The Lyceum continues to increase its profile within the Greek/Australian Community through the promotion of Greek dance groups and the extensive collection of authentic Greek costumes, embroideries and jewellery of which a small selection is exhibited at Greek Consul’s Office 219-223 Castlereagh Street, Sydney.
