Harley H Hefford

"It's not yo philosophical stance as much as how you live in harmony with the truth you believe in.<3"

Creative theatre-maker passionate about community building, expressive clothing and facilitating positive and unique spaces.

CEO @Magical Mystery Co • Co-Founder

Immersive event design company creating gatherings which foster connectionsIn 2017, Harley developed an immersive work called Do Not Collect $200. The idea began as a theatrical environment where audience members were given different amounts of currency. Each of the various performances around the space had a price and within these interactive pieces, it was possible to win or lose money.

As well as a dynamic and innovative framework for a show, this format was designed to critique wealth inequality within the world. The team increased as he made the piece, culminating in a group of about 50 creatives collaborating on the final product. The team utilised the familiar game of Monopoly, creating their own boards which listed all of the scenes available around the room instead of the 'properties' one normally purchases. Audiences of 100 people a night enjoyed the show, and managed their money and purchases via an app.

This piece was large-scale, accessible, fun, interactive & meaningful for creators & audience, achieving a lot of what he hoped to do with Magical Mystery Co.
