Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service

The Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service (GDVRS) established in 2015, is a joint effort organised by the City of Greater Dandenong and South East Volunteers, who have been supporting the communities since 1985. Each year more than 1800 volunteers are placed in over 450 community service organisations.

The GDVRS offers numerous services to the City of Greater Dandenong that include;

  • Connecting locals with volunteering resources;
  • Providing resources and support to potential volunteers;
  • Increasing the profile of volunteering across the community;
  • A referral service for volunteer involving agencies
  • Providing regular training sessions to volunteers and Volunteer Coordinators
  • Providing information, support and resources to Volunteer Coordinators and groups involving volunteers.
  • Supporting volunteer recognition events

The opportunities through voluntary work are many and varied. Not-for-profit organisations include volunteers in roles related to arts, culture, education, environment, health, emergency services, sport and international development. Volunteers can be involved in research, retail sales, home maintenance or food preparation. Volunteers can be any age or nationality and are invited to discover the number of opportunities available to them.

We aim to provide a high quality, responsive service that provides positive experiences for volunteers and agencies in search of volunteer support.

Volunteer referral interviews are by appointment only. To schedule a time to discuss volunteer opportunities, phone South East Volunteers on 9562 0414.
