The General Practice Students Network (GPSN) is a national student-run organisation using a peer-to-peer marketing model that seeks to foster interest in general practice and promote it as a specialty of choice. There are active GPSN clubs in medical schools at 20 of the 21 university campuses across Australia (With Curtin to open their own Club in late 2017).GPSN logo

GPSN offers programs focused on exposing medical students to the inspiring diversity of a career in general practice. Activities include fun clinical skill sessions, social events, seminars and conferences, peer support and networking opportunities.

There is also a scholarship program – the GPSN First Wave Scholarship – that gives medical students early real-world exposure to general practice and GP mentors.

GPSN is administered by General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA).
