Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault

Gippsland Centre against Sexual Assault (GCASA) is the primary sexual assault support service for Gippsland, Victoria. GCASA is one of 14 CASA’s across the state of Victoria, providing services to all people in Gippsland who have experienced sexual assault or abuse; irrespective of age, gender, sexual identity, or ethnicity. Ongoing counselling is provided Monday to Friday, with an out-of-hours crisis care unit in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

GCASA is also committed to the elimination of sexual violence through professional and community education, advocacy within policy and law reform, and research to increase community understanding of the nature and impacts of sexual assault.

Our service delivers dynamic, evidence-based professional development and training workshops, through a trauma lens. Programs are designed and delivered by experienced specialist staff, practicing in areas including psychology, social work, community development, and counselling.

Workshop content includes the latest innovations, best-practice guidelines, research, and legislation relating to sexual assault and abuse, and is guided by Blue Knot Foundation’s “Practice Guidelines for Treatment of Complex Trauma and Trauma Informed Care and Service Delivery”.

Training and professional development packages can be tailored to suit your organisational needs and budget. If you wish to book, or discuss your training needs further, please contact our Prevention and Education Team on (03) 5134 3922 or via
