Effective Approaches to Hoarding Behaviours

Welcome to the 'Effective Approaches to Hoarding Behaviours' training booking site - below you will find three booking options for Lismore, Tweed Heads and Grafton.

 

This training is aimed at a range of professions including but not limited to: housing and homelessness support workers, mental health workers, home care services, real estate managers, cleaning services, council health and safety officers, fire safety services, child protection workers, and at times concerned family and friends have attended. 

 

This training offers a mix of current industry information, case examples and strategies that I have used and witnessed in my time working in the sector as a direct in-home support worker, a hoarding support group facilitator, a hoarding consultant for a local council, and as a trainer in this field.

 

I bring not only my expertise in the field of Hoarding to the session but also my knowledge and experience of working in the welfare field for 20yrs. Currently working as a counsellor with Narrative, Mindfulness and ACT therapies.

 

 

Course Outline: Trauma informed approaches and considerations, DSMV addition and definition, statistics and characteristics, different types of hoarding, OH&S issues, at risk tenancies, children safety concerns, RSPCA, neighbours and council issues, strategies and examples for case coordination with multiple service providers, practical strategies for service users and therapeutic tools, real case examples used throughout to draw information from, links to helpful resources and websites, promotion of workers self-care and vicarious trauma impacts
