Dr Matt Brearley

Dr Matt Brearley is passionate about all things related to heat. Matt earned a PhD from CDU for research on athletes competing in the heat and development of pre-cooling protocols. He was the heat specialist of the Australian team during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China prior to focussing on the responses of field staff to the NT's harsh climate. Having pioneered a range of novel yet practical strategies, Matt works with emergency responders, outdoor employees and elite athletes to maximise their health, safety and performance in the heat.
