About Doris Teach Art – Academic Art for Children
Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, Doris Teach Art was established to address a clear gap in the art education industry: bringing academic painting training into the early stages of children’s learning. The studio provides families with a structured and systematic pathway for young art lovers, laying a foundation for long-term artistic development and preparation for top art schools worldwide.
At the core of Doris Teach Art’s pedagogy is an innovative reform of academic training. Children are able to complete the full 1–10 level system in sketching and color within just 2–3 years of primary school, ensuring they have ample time to transition into advanced creative practice and portfolio preparation.
Doris Teach Art has gained strong recognition among Australian families. Parents from across the country even fly their children to Sydney to attend in-person classes, while many families commit to more than 7 hours of online lessons every week. This consistent dedication reflects the trust in Doris’s methods and the results delivered through her programs.
In addition to academic courses, Doris Teach Art has developed exclusive creative courseware that guides children through systematic themed projects. A signature feature of the studio is the commercialization of children’s original artworks—transforming their creations into greeting cards, postcards, tote bags, and other cultural products. This unique practice not only expands the visibility of children’s creativity but also empowers them with confidence and a sense of achievement.
Led by Doris, a graduate of the China Academy of Art who studied painting under a student of Xu Beihong, the studio combines academic rigor with innovation. Doris’s works have been collected by the China Literature Foundation, she has published over 20 illustrated books, served as a lecturer at the Shanghai Film Art Academy, and worked as a producer in the award-winning art team behind Apple’s Game of the Year, Monument Valley. Her extensive experience ensures Doris Teach Art remains a pioneer in redefining children’s art education.
