Deborah Hart

I am a registered counsellor, professional orchestral musician and qualified and registered music teacher.

I have a private counselling practice in Melbourne, Australia and specialise in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) for music performance anxiety. I am also interested in researching and developing interventions using Self-Determination Theory and Flow Theory.

In 2017 I began delivering workshops in performance to students at the Queensland Conservatorium (Griffith University), WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts), UWA (University of Western Australia) and ANAM (Australian National Academy of Music). I presented my first conference workshop to ANZ ACBS 2017

In 2018 I have presented a workshop to the Association of Music Teachers for high school music teachers to help their students with performance anxiety. I have also presented a workshop called 'I Don't Sing (but I think I might like to)' for people who are nervous about singing. I will also be presenting workshops to high school students in preparation for their final music exams. I have run an audition preparation workshop and now a mock audition workshop.

In 2018 I am performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, West Australian Symphony Orchestra and The Production Company.
