Contemporary Ceylon

Contemporary Ceylon began as a unique dining experience hosted by Andrew Speldewinde where he endeavoured to bring his experimental and modern cooking style to Sri Lankan food. From its humble beginnings as a home cook venture, Contemporary Ceylon went on to organise large scale pop up events at venues such as the Dutch Burgher Union. All the tasting menus examined traditional Sri lankan dishes or ingredients and elevated them with modern twists or cooking techniques. Andrew draws heavily from his roots, incorporating old family recipes into his menus.

Before founding Contemporary Ceylon, Andrew previously staged at Michelin starred Ryu Gin in Hong Kong and he now works at Vue De Monde in Melbourne.
