Consumer and Community Involvement Program

The Consumer and Community Involvement Program (CCIProgram) is an activity of the Western Australian Health Translation Network (WAHTN). The CCIProgram supports consumers, community members and researchers to work in partnership to make decisions about health research priorities, policy and practice with the aim of improving health outcomes and ensuring community involvement becomes standard practice. The CCIProgram was established in 1998 by the University of Western Australia’s School of Population Health. The CCIProgram works closely with researchers at Western Australia’s five universities, six medical research institutes, the metropolitan health service providers, and the WA Department of Health.

Led by Debra Langridge, the CCI Program team works to facilitate, develop and support numerous involvement strategies, events, training programs and resources for researchers, consumers and community members. The work we do is underpinned by the National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) statement and framework on Consumer and Community Involvement.
