City Analytics Program at UNSW City Futures Research Centre
In an era of big data, little data and smart cities, significant repositories of data are becoming available for planners, decision-makers, and communities. The opportunity exists to utilize this data to support evidence-based decision making and collectively plan for the future of our cities. UNSW City Analytics Program is focused on developing and applying such innovative techniques for collecting, analysing and visualizing urban data. The program has strong linkages with the Commonwealth government-funded national Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) project and a range of project internationally.
City Analytics research is also closely linked to a number of courses within UNSW Built Environment at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including the Digital Cities course that among other topics, provides critical discussions on Smart Cities strategies and placemaking.
