Burra Districts Open Gardens and Expo

Two small but enthusiastic groups promoting the Mid North of South Australia through gardening tourism. The festival is to provide a cornucopia for garden lovers to relax and enjoy all things country, our lifestyle and scenery.

Open Gardens showcases gardens of the Goyder region with three towns opening their garden gates to visitors. All our gardens are built and maintained by their owners in their own style. We live in a harsh climate with beautiful scenery offering many tourist drives for those who enjoy exploring.

Spring Expo will captivate with their decorations in the Burra Town Hall, an Alice in Wonderland theme-what fun. Community and sharing are the watch words here, gardening is an activity that brings all generations together for the benefit of our environment and our well being.

Open Gardens is working towards promoting the produce of the Goyder region. We are famous for Saltbush lamb, wheat and beef. Many keen gardeners and producers have become involved this year to help with our first long table lunch-A Rich and Rustic Feast Italian style. Food you can't get everywhere, home grown and locally luscious.

Vision-Inspiring, educating, nurturing and strengthening our community

Mission-To provide safe and beautiful spaces where people of all ages share ideas, knowledge and skills in horticulture, and experience a sense of well being and community.
