Anthony Lekkas

I'm passionate about the process of understanding human bonds and behaviour, as well as examining the social, cultural and political contexts in which they occur.

My therapeutic services have supported individuals, couple relationships, polyamorous relationships as well as monogamous and non-monogamous relationships. Additionally I have designed and facilitated a number of therapeutic group programs. My work involves advocating for the positive change you want in your relationships and life, working with you to build a greater sense of self-awareness, identify areas that you feel need strengthening, and support you to initiate effective strategies to deal with the challenges you and your partner/s face. My service offers a confidential, safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space to explore your concerns and needs. I provide relationship counselling for LGBTI and heterosexual people in relationships.

My work spans over 15 years of working in the not-for-profit community health sector and in private practice. I have provided services in mainstream and LGBTIQ spaces. I draw from a number of theoretical frameworks when working with you in your life context including systemic, queer affirmative, feminist and anti-oppressive approaches. In relationship counselling I also draw from attachment theory, emotion-focused therapies and behavioural integrated approaches, among others.

Family violence men' s behaviour change program practitioners can contact me for individual or team supervision. People who identify as male can contact me for information on Challenging Male Sexism and Male Entitlement Accountability Groups. People of all genders are welcome to attend these monthly activist spaces.
