UK expat Andrew Bukenya started Strictly Soul in 2010 as a way to bring love and soul back to the dancefloors of the Oxford Street strip, and in doing so, create a community of music lovers of diverse backgrounds and ages united by a love of soul/ soul- influenced sounds ranging from Soul via R n B and Hip Hop to soulful house sounds and disco.

A former music graduate (UEA, UK & Tokyo National University of Music and Fine Arts) Andrew has sung duet vocals with Chaka Khan and Sheila E (Blue Note Tokyo), background vocals for Usher (MTV) and  George Benson and The Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House. He has performed with notable classical music ensembles as a singer (The GABRIELLI CONSORT) and conductor (London Chamber Orchestra/Sydney's Cafe of the Gate of Salvation Gospel Choir) and headlined sold out solo vocal recitals in music ranging from the renaissance to gospel and beyond for the Mardi Gras Festival with Aria award winning harpist Marshall McGuire at the Stables Theatre, and noteable jazz musicians Gregg Coffin and the late Ashley Chatto

As a tv presenter on NHK WORLD TV' s long-running 'Japanology' he introduced aspects of Japanese culture to audiences in over 180 countries and he is currently a presenter on FineMusicFM 102.5/Fine Music Digital, hosting a monthly show sponsored by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, showcasing the orchestra's personnel and upcoming concerts, as well as producing and presenting programs highlighting young classical talent (Young Virtuosi)and jazz musicians, to audiences in Australia and worldwide via He combines all these rich musical and cultural experiences and interests as a host of this party
