Max Schafer

Max Schafer studied with the great Viola Spolin and Paul Sills. He is the author of “Viola Spolin’s Theater Games for the Classroom multimedia CD.” He is currently a distinguished California Certificated teacher and leads improv workshops for over 40 years in the US, Japan, Brazil, England, and Turkey. He runs the World Spolin Network, Dance Improv Network, and the Musical Improv Network on Facebook.

He has lead workshops for teachers and actors in England, Brazil, and many cities around the United States. He was the featured presenter at the Educational Theatre Association convention in 2007. He earned a B.Ph. in Education and Theater Games from Grand Valley University. He authored “Viola Spolin’s Theater Games for the Classroom” multimedia CD. He was the stage manager for Paul Sill’s “Sills and Co.” and “The Spolin Players.” He ran workshops for aspiring young actors at the Hollywood Casting Center in North Hollywood.

He is currently running a musical improv workshop in Los Angeles.
