Lisbon Studio for Experimental Learning
At the Lisbon Studio for Experimental Learning, we believe education should be dynamic, inclusive, and connected to the real world. Our alternative school offers a hands-on, cross-disciplinary approach that empowers learning communities to explore diverse artistic traditions, creative practices, and the challenges shaping our world today, from climate change and sustainability to technological transformation.
This year, our curriculum centres on two core artistic disciplines: painting and animation. Students will immerse themselves in diverse painting practices and traditions from around the world, discovering how different cultures have used colour, form, and composition to express meaning and vision. In parallel, they'll explore the magic of frame-by-frame animation (both analog and digital), storytelling and cultural dialogue, learning to bring their unique perspectives to life through the art of sequencing and movement to address real world problem-solving.
Through creative play and critical thinking, students will develop their technical skills that connect them with becoming active participants in the changes they wish to see in the world.
