We Are Rooted
Hi, I’m Tor.
Thank you for being here.
I’ve lived in Hackney for over 20 years and Stoke Newington has been my home for the past 10. I have enjoyed a lot of what London has to offer – enjoying the freedom of the city life. In recent years, I have slowed down and connected more deeply with myself and with nature. I am still on a journey of understanding how to live in this city and do right by the community and world as a whole. Circle, and supporting women to connect with themselves and with the cycles of nature is a step towards that.
I’ve long dreamed of opening my living room to host gatherings - once imagining supper clubs - and I’m so excited to finally be sharing this space through women’s circles.
I believe connecting with nature is an essential element to living in an urban environment. For me, time under the trees in Abney Park, the long grasses of the Walthamstow Marshes or listening to bird song at the Woodbury Wetlands is deeply healing. We can take inspiration from nature, have you noticed how trees never crowd each other out? One will grow bigger branches on one side, giving space for its neighbour.
I spent a number of years working in hospitality and events, managed studio spaces, worked on the Olympics, managed bars at UK festivals. Since 2019 I now work for the NHS as a Dietitian. I have had many jobs over the years, but the residing theme that has always been working with people. I love to support and connect with individuals and communities.
If any of this resonates, or you just feel like it please do reach out and connect.
Tor xx
