BSides Maine
BSides Maine is organized by a small volunteer team drawn from Maine’s hacker and security community. Collectivly, we run local meetups, workshops, and hands-on events focused on hardware, offensive security, reverse engineering, AI misuse, and practical defensive work. Our background spans penetration testing, security engineering, software development, and community building.
Our mission is simple: create an accessible, community-driven space for people in Maine who like to take things apart, understand how they work, and share what they’ve learned. We focus on events that are practical, affordable, and built around curiosity - talks, workshops, breakout rooms, project nights, and anything that encourages people to experiment and collaborate.
BSides Maine is our way of scaling that effort into a statewide conference: no vendor gloss, no gatekeeping, just a full day where people can learn, build, break things safely, and meet others who care about the same work.
We’re volunteers, not a company. Every event we run exists because the community shows up, contributes, and keeps Maine’s hacker culture moving forward.
