Caraway and Sorrel Foraging
Forager chef.
Foraging experiences and wild food workshops.
Foraging feasts, private dining and events.
Food, and wild food in particular, is my absolute passion…. sourcing it, foraging it, fermenting, pickling and manipulating it, eating it with gusto, feeding it to people as an act of love and nurture, and making every mouthful count!
It’s been a lifetime of learning about edible wild plants and fungi … reading, researching, tramping the woods and hedgerows…devouring ancient wisdom and traditional ways… I’ve learned to make delicious ferments, brews and pickles and how to preserve the tastes of the seasons for the lean months.
What makes me passionate is a back to basics, homegrown, self sufficient, foraged, local, bartered and meaningful existence centred on personal independence AND community.
Teaching foraging is an integral part of this lifestyle…I love to see a persons face light up when I tell them they can eat something they’ve been walking past, or stepping over their whole lives! Or when they taste their first wild garlic bud, or fuchsia berry, or experience their first salty, crunchy taste of spaghetti seaweed!
