Ino Maquirang
Kancho Ino Maquirang is the Founder of Jin Sei Ryu Karate-Do and an 8th Degree Black Belt with over 51 years of international martial arts experience. He is known for developing students over many years, guiding children from their very first class at age 4 through to adulthood, careers, and beyond.
Kancho has competed in more than 250 tournaments worldwide, coached athletes of all ages, and instructed in Japan, New Zealand, Australia, England, Italy, South Africa, Hong Kong/China, and throughout the United States. His teaching has been featured in instructional videos and books, and in 1997 he was inducted into the Blitz Magazine Hall of Fame as Outstanding Kata Competitor of the Year.
Kancho holds a Master’s degree from New York University (1994) and a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University (1987).
After decades of teaching and refining his approach, he founded Jin Sei Ryu Karate-Do, a style grounded in personal growth, reflection, and lifelong practice. Today, Kancho and his family share this tradition with students around the world, helping people of all ages train with confidence, respect, and joy.
