Sanatana Yoga Academy
Narendra Nathan (Narendra for short) is the founder of Sanatana Yoga academy. Narendra is a Yoga Australia registered Yoga teacher and has been practicing Yoga for 30 years and been teaching Yoga for more than 15 years. During my career as a Professional Engineer, I became interested in Yoga in my mid-thirties when I slowed down on my rugby and long-distance running. In my younger days, Yoga for me was something people do when they are lazy or unable to run or play rugby. Well, when I started on Yoga Asanas (postures) I quickly realise the mind and body rigour it required and loved the discipline and the feel after a good session of asanas. As I practiced over the years, I realised the changes in my inner psyche along with flexibility of the body and the improvement of the cardio fitness. This prompted me to delve into the philosophy of Yoga and the science behind the Yoga practices. It became apparent that the yogis of ancient India were master psychologists, neurologists, anatomists (if there is such a word), endocrinology experts along with spirituality. Over the last 20 years I soaked up as much as I could on Yoga including scientific journal articles publishing research findings on effects of Yoga on the body and mind. The burning desire to share my knowledge of the philosophy, practice, and science of yoga with the community in Perth, Western Australia where I live, prompted me to go into full time Yoga teaching and share my knowledge through face-to-face sessions as well as online sessions. Thus, in 2019 I set up Sanatana Yoga Academy.
I am passionate about sharing the science and philosophy behind Yoga with all those who share this beautiful planet with me and to help them realise how Yoga can transform their lives irrespective of their colour, caste, creed or faith.
Over the years I also realised that my combined knowledge of Yoga, Ayurveda and Yogic Reflexology were especially useful when I taught people with issues such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Thyroid, Strokes, Stress, Anxiety, Addiction. Taking a holistic approach of stress, bio energy and food management along with physical asanas (Yoga postures) I found some of my clients could manage and even overcome their afflictions that persisted for many years. From this I grew a passion for helping people with chronic and autoimmune diseases to overcome or manage their issues better.
I now do public group sessions as well private sessions. People outside Perth from anywhere in the world can attend live online or download recordings of sessions.
If you suffer from a chronic issue, I would love to hear from you wherever you are in the world. If you want to learn more about how we can help, visit our website sanatanayoga.com.au, or email sanatanayogaacademy@gmail.com or phone +61438496040 (can use WhatsApp or Viber for calling by phone).
