Our focus is education, providing quality information on organic gardening, ecological gardening (permaculture) and sustainable gardening through online and in-person educational workshops, and also by providing free online instructional articles to a global audience.
We take an ecological approach to gardening by working with nature. By understanding nature’s systems, we can work in harmony with them, allowing us to garden more productively with much less effort.
What makes us different, apart from our ecological approach to gardening, is the way we teach from first principles. We not only explain how to do things, but we also explain why, because adults learn and remember better when they know the reasons why they’re doing what they’re doing!
Deep Green Permaculture is run by Angelo Eliades, a presenter, trainer and writer in the areas of sustainable gardening and permaculture. He has worked as a horticulturist in the garden nursery industry and as a sustainable gardening trainer over the last ten years, writes for a major Australian gardening magazine, has a demonstration food forest garden in Melbourne’s inner suburbs, and runs the educational website Deep Green Permaculture - https://deepgreenpermaculture.com
