Overview

Create your own Japanese stab-bound zine in this fun and creative workshop with our Writer in Residence, Michiyo Miyake.

Learn the fundamentals of using the traditional kōki toji (noble binding) technique to create a handcrafted zine. Bring anything you want to use, including poems, photographs, collage scraps, wrapping paper and any other materials.

For adults 18+. Bookings are essential. Please book one ticket for each person attending.

About the presenter

Michiyo Miyake is our current Don Bank Writer in Residence. She is a writer, translator and independent publisher with a PhD in literature who was born in Japan and based in Sydney. She is active in the indie book and zine scene in both Australia and Japan.

Accessibility

This event will be held in the Conference Room on Level 2 and is accessible for people using mobility aids via lift.
