Event description
Learn how to effectively compost at home at the 2021 Zero Waste Festival.

About this event

COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to ongoing lockdowns in Canberra, the Zero Waste Festival has been postponed to Saturday 30 April, 2022. The festival will still be held at Kambri, and will still feature the same great lineup of workshops and speakers.

Composting and worm farming are great alternatives to disposing of your food waste in the rubbish bin while creating natural fertiliser for your garden. Learn how to set up your compost bin and worm farm, then optimise them for the Canberra climate. Get expert tips for trouble shooting common, and not so common, problems.

This workshop will be hosted by Ryan Lungu. Ryan is the Director of the Canberra Environment Centre and a passionate local food advocate.  Ryan completed his Masters Research in Environmental Management at the Australian National University.  When not assisting the Canberra community to engage in sustainable living practices he can be found in his home vegetable garden with seven chickens and two Australian Kelpies.

This workshop is part of the Zero Waste Festival 2021 organised by Zero Waste Revolution. Head to the main event page to see the rest of the fantastic festival program.
