The National Christian Youth Convention (NCYC) has been a program of the Uniting Church in Australia, partner churches & friends, since 1955. For 2017 it has been named Yurora, which is a Dharug word meaning passionate, from the Burrumattagal peoples - the first peoples of the land in North Parramatta, where NCYC 2014 (the first Yurora) was held.
Yurora 2017 is being hosted at Stanwell Tops from Sunday 8 – Thursday 12 January, 2017.
As is the WA tradition, First Third ministry is organising a short tour before & after Yurora. The tour will be a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, develop friendships with other young adults in WA & to see many of the fabulous Sydney sights.
The tour commences on Friday 6 January and includes a visit to Circular Quay, a ferry trip to Manly, dinner in Chinatown and the fireworks in Darling Harbour. The tour picks up again after Yurora and concludes on Saturday 14 January after shopping, Bondi Beach and Luna Park.
First Third ministry values the wonderful opportunities that attending Yurora presents, so for those registering prior to 30 November 2016, we are offering to reimburse the NCYC registration cost of $280.
Please choose Yurora and Tour to book your spots!
If you can't come on the tour, then please just choose the Yurora option.
For payment options, if your congregation is supporting you, then please choose 'Invoice' or 'Cheque'. This will allow us to contact you to confirm your choices and give you more time to do any fundraising or if you are getting assistance from your congregation, the invoice can be passed on to the relevant person to arrange payment.
Is there an age limit?
Yes - Yurora is open to those between 16 - 25 years of age so you must fall between those age categories.
