Event description

Description

The Young Sikh Professionals Network (YSPN) New Zealand would like to invite you to our inaugural event, Success through Networking.

YSPN, which was founded in 2012 with a mandate to "Create the conditions for young Sikh professionals to succeed and amplify their influence", has chapters across Australia, and is very excited to announce its launch in New Zealand.

On the night we will have two fantastic speakers, Dr Malvinder Singh-Bains (Neuroscientist and nominee for Young New Zealander of the Year in 2015 and 2016) and Mr Karan Anand (Director at Deloitte Australia and Chair of YSPN Australia). Both speakers will talk about the importance of professional networks and the role organisations such as YSPN play in creating a pathway to success. This night will also be a great chance for you to mingle with like minded individuals from the community and start building up your own networks.

Dr. Malvindar Singh-Bains is a neuroscientist based at the University of Auckland Centre for Brain Research. She is most well known for her work in promoting brain health and awareness of neurodegenerative diseases.

In 2013 she established the Huntington’s Disease Youth Organisation of New Zealand, a charity devoted to supporting NZ youth effected by Huntington’s Disease. In August 2014, Malvindar was one of the youngest speakers to present at the Hereditary Disease Foundation Conference in Boston and for the past ten years, her passion for improving the lives of those with incurable diseases has developed into a passion for research into brain disease and for promoting brain health and awareness of the impact of brain diseases.

Karan Anand is a Director at Deloitte in Sydney. He is also an entrepreneur, co-founder and Chair of the Young Sikh Professionals Network (YSPN) and Chair of the Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD). Karan will share how YSPN has grown from an idea in 2012 to being an international organisation with 5 chapters, a management team of 50+ people, which has delivered 50+ events and had an impact on thousands of people in less than five years.

Remember, the night will be quite interactive and you will get the opportunity to network with other attendees.

We look forward to seeing you there!
