Description

YSPN Melbourne would like to invite you to Storytelling and Listening for Leadership: How to Craft Compelling Stories that Create a Memorable Impact in Every Context.

This workshop will be facilitated by Benaifer Bhadha, who is travelling all the way from New York just for these events.

Telling your story is key to discovering your own voice: to express who you are, the struggles you have endured and overcome, and the impact you have made on the world. Storytelling can also raise heightened emotions in us. Our fears of judgement, opinions and criticism can impact our courage and our desire to speak. In this experiential event, we will discover how to use the technique of storytelling to influence and impact others.

Whether you are creating a business case for a new idea, promoting your candidacy in an interview, or making a memorable impression on a date…or a networking event, learn how to use storytelling to strengthen your communications. In addition, you will learn leadership listening; how to unpack the obstacles and biases that impede listening and discover the power to overcome judgements, opinions and interpretations. Through solo and partnered exercises you will learn specific storytelling techniques and guidelines that will help you structure and tell any personal story.

Storytelling is one of the most impactful and connective means of communicating with others. Together, we will explore our stories, and share how these stories can become an empowering technique for connection in our family, workplace, communities and society.

Benaifer is an executive leadership coach, advocacy trainer and arts activist. She earned her Masters Degrees in International Affairs and in Social Work from Columbia University.

As an executive coach and trainer, Benaifer has worked with major foundations, socially conscious companies, NGOs and educational institutions all over the world. Some of her clients include UNICEF, the Open Society Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, Medium, Bloomberg LP, Twitter, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM) and Columbia University.

This interactive workshop will be a great chance to enhance your skills to ensure that you continue to become the leaders in your chosen fields.

Please join us in what will be another fantastic event!
