About this event
The May theme for Youth Writing Saturdays is Big Things Grow.

This month's workshop will look at how to discover seeds of inspiration, how to grow big ideas, and how to get them written down on the page.
Please ensure you select the correct session time:
- Grades 7-9: 10:00 am - 11:30 am

About Youth Writing Saturdays
Youth Writing Saturdays is a creative writing program for young people held monthly at Queensland Writers Centre. Whether the young writers are self-publishing savants or eager bookworms, Youth Writing Saturdays provides a space where they can find their tribe.
Working with a practical approach, the input from students shapes the curriculum, topics, and writing exercises from month to month. Two tutors facilitate the workshop and offer support by listening to ideas, reading work, and helping edit pieces for submission opportunities. We’re all about working towards goals, publishing opportunities, allowing for writing time and free discussion at every workshop.
For parents and caretakers
During the workshop there are no parents allowed in the workshop room. Feel free to use the State Library Facilities, have a read, grab a coffee at the State Library Café or GOMA Café, go for a walk or nap in your car. Whatever suits you. We will be supervising the students during their sessions.
