Event description

Description

This workshop is presented by Brisbane City Council as part of Youth Week 2018.

Create your own, one-of-a-kind upcycled stool or chair. Participants will learn to re-upholster and re-decorate a salvaged chair or stool, using interesting offcuts of fabrics, hessian coffee sacks and other discarded materials from the Reverse Garbage Queensland warehouse.

We have some stools and chairs available for purchase for $10 each (order with your ticket by Monday 26 March), but if you have your own piece you are interested in restoring, bring it along.

* Your chair should have an easy-to-remove seat and/or back to enable re-upholstering. E.g. can the seat be separated from the frame of the chair, unscrewed, and de-stapled?

Please note participants should be aged between 13 - 25 years as these workshops are offered by the Brisbane City Council for youth week.

Tick Options

  • Free if you have your own chair
  • $10 if you require us to purchase a chair.

Spaces are limited. Please only RSVP if you are able to attend, and please adjust your RSVP if your availability changes so another person can have your spot.
