Event description

Description

Bendigo Bank and Harcourts Winecoast has combined with McLaren Vale's newest Cafe & Co-workspacing, Meeting Place MV to release a series of barista classes for local youth aged 12-17.

“We know that it is tough to make a start in the workforce at the end of high school” says Bendigo Bank board-member, Charles Manning. “We are excited to provide an opportunity for local kids to pick up a handy skill – something which could help them get work in the local community and further afield”.

Dusting off his apron and picking up a steamer-jug to run the classes will be Mark Potter, past owner of McLaren Vale’s Blessed Cheese and Willunga’s 3 Monkeys Fine Foods and proud owner of the new venture, Meeting Place MV.

Once described by the Weekend Australian as producing ‘pump your fist in the air’ quality coffee, and 2003 winner of People’s Choice Best Coffee on the Fleurieu, Dr Potter has kept his skills fresh by providing training to local businesses across the last few years.

The 2 hour course is normally charged at $50 per head, but has been reduced to $30 via the support of Bendigo Bank.
