Contemporary Creative Industries work across a variety of spaces – whether digital platforms, physical spaces or the public domain – Suzanne Derry from Arts Law discusses the spaces you work in including tenancies, insurances, public liability, digital citizenship, licensing and online sales in other currencies and jurisdictions.
Social Media is undoubtedly one of the most effective low-cost marketing tools, but how to make the most of it? Social Media and Digital Marketing Strategist, Karen P’ng has helped some of Australia’s largest online retailers to drive engagement through targeted content and will share her steps through the ultimate Social Media Strategy.
Presenters
Suzanne Derry is the Senior Solicitor at the Arts Law Centre of Australia. Suzanne has worked for a number of community legal centres and a boutique entertainment law practice. Suzanne provides legal advice on copyright, contract, defamation, debt and business structures. Suzanne enjoys educating artists about their rights and providing practical advice across a range of arts areas.
Karen P’ng is a freelance strategist and consultant specialising in social media, digital marketing and content. Karen has worked with Australia’s largest online retailer and also has a strong interest in helping start-ups and small businesses with limited resources grow using structure and strategy. Karen has created digital marketing strategies for THE ICONIC, theright.fit, BRICKX and Trefiel.

Over four Wednesday evenings in winter, the City of Sydney will be inviting industry experts to share their knowledge with local arts, cultural and creative businesses. This is an opportunity to up-skill and maximise your competitiveness in the arts and creative industries. You're invited to attend as many sessions as you like, but please remember, spaces are limited and you must book for each session you wish to attend.
