Your Health: The Most Valuable Asset for a Long & Prosperous Life

Essentially, for us all, life is very good. We have shelter, we are safe, we have access to good food and medicine, we invest and we save. We have worked hard to build and protect these assets. However, there is another asset that we sometimes take for granted or even neglect, and that is our health.

We are living in very interesting times because for the first time ever we are starting to understand the root causes of the illnesses that rob us of our health and the mechanisms of why we age. More importantly, we now have the knowledge to be pro-active and to actually do something. We can prevent and even reverse key diseases and we may even be able to delay the aging process. It is an exciting and emerging field of science called longevity medicine

In this seminar I will define what it really means to be healthy, from the inside out. I will share what we know about longevity and how to extend our health. I will discuss some of the key pillars of health and offer practical advice on we need to focus upon in order to live a healthier and longer life.

In this seminar I will introduce and discuss the following topics in more detail:

• What does it mean to be healthy, what does being healthy look and feel like

• Introduce the Pillars of Health and Longevity –

1. To be free of disease and to delay aging

- introduce the health issues that affect us as we get older

- discuss how and why we age, know our actual biological age – tests we can do to measure it

- introduce the Blue Zones – these are the people that live the longest on our planet, how they eat, how they live, insight on how we might want to eat and live (i.e. should we drink wine and if so, how much)

- if possible, we can tie in the evening meal to reflect a Blue Zone meal. It will provide an easy and engaging way to explain how we can use food to improve our health

2. The importance of sleep

- why is sleep so important, how much sleep do we need - brain health!

- practical advice on how to improve your sleep

3. The importance of exercise

- exercise and brain health

- how much, what type, age appropriate exercise

This seminar will introduce some of the new trends in health and anti-aging. I will keep the topic engaging and not too medical or scientific. I will talk about general eating styles but without delving into actual diets or food too much. I do however, would like the audience to walk away with some practical advice and some clear ideas of what they might need to do themselves to build their own‘health asset portfolio’
