Event description

Description

We want to improve the experience of applying for a role with the Queensland Government.

We are running five workshops to help us gather insights about what it is like to apply for a role with us so that we can deliver a better experience for people who apply in the future.

We want to hear from anyone who has applied for a role within the last 6 months, across a range of occupations, experiences, levels and agencies.

We are also specifically seeking feedback and experience from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and have arranged a closed workshop on Tuesday 18 June 2019 at 1-3pm (although participants are welcome to join any workshop).

There are five workshop dates across May and June:

  • Friday 24 May 2-4pm
  • Monday 27 May 10-12pm
  • Tuesday 18 June 10-12pm
  • Tuesday 18 June 1-3pm (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specific)
  • Thursday 20 June 10-12pm

If you want to know more or have questions, please contact the Public Service Commission at workforcestrategy@psc.qld.gov.au

What is this research for?

We want to improve the experience of applying for a role with the Queensland Government. To do this we would like to understand current experiences about what it is like to apply for a role right through to notification of the outcome of the process. This research will be collated and used across the sector to inform the development of a recruitment approach that helps us to attract and employ the best and diverse talent.

Who can participate?

Anyone who has applied for a role with the Queensland Government within the last 6 months. This includes people who are current employees of the Queensland Government, as well as people who aren't working with us.

How long will it take?

The workshops will be held in Brisbane and will be for 2 hours.

How can people from regional locations participate?

People from regional locations can participate through the experience survey. If you have more detailed information you would like to provide, please contact workforcestrategy@psc.qld.gov.au.

What happens with my feedback?

Your feedback will be compiled to provide broad insights into the journey when applying for a role. We will not be collecting information about your name or the specific role you applied for, however we will ask for information about the level, agency and other demographic and outcome information to help us better understand the feedback we collect.

We will use the information to guide the development of recruitment practices across the sector so that we can make the journey for candidates as useful, valuable and easy as possible.

Which workshop can I join?

There are four dates available for most candidates to choose – depending on what works with your availability.

We have set aside a specific workshop for those that identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, although you are also welcome to join any other workshop as well.
