Event description
Local Fremantle company People on Bicycles will teach participants how to fix and troubleshoot basic bicycle repairs.

About this event

This hand-on maintenance workshop, by People on Bicycle's, will suit Fremantle bike enthusiasts, ages 12 and up.

This workshop is free for City of Fremantle, Town of East Fremantle and City of Melville residents.

If you’re keen to become more savvy about your bicycle this basic, hands-on maintenance workshop is perfect. Learn to make your bike and helmet suit you and fix and trouble shoot the most common equipment failures. In this workshop we will cover:

  • Advice about helmet, bike lock and repair kit/pump
  • Checking brakes are in safe, working condition
  • Fixing punctures and flat tyre repair
  • Putting a chain that’s come off back on
  • Tyre inflating – correct pressure
  • Adjusting saddle height, seating position
  • Giving your bike a quick once over focusing on screws and frame

Please bring your own bicycle. Wear comfortable gear that you don’t mind getting dirty.

The workshop will be located inside the Reuse Shop of the Fremantle Recycling Centre. Please adhere to the parking instructions on confirmation.

By learning to repair and maintain your bicycle, participants will extend the life or learn to fix an old bicycle.
