This professional development workshop for artists will be presented by Paula Silbert

Your Art’s Great So Why Are You Hiding It? Getting confident with Social Media, Journalists and the Press delivers easy, cost-free steps and behind-the-scenes tips from arts journalist, Paula Silbert.

In just half a day, you’ll receive

  1. Tried and tested ways to receive thousands of dollars of free media.
  2. Simple ways to get the best out of Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and LinkedIn.
  3. Essential ingredients for your next Media Release.
  4. What you must (and mustn’t) say to journalists.
  5. A Step-by-step Media Release check-list.
  6. Easy ways to identify the media that’s good for you, your studio and your event.
  7. Practical, relevant working documents that participants will refer to long after the workshop.

The Presenter

Paula Silbert possesses the bright eyes and battle scars that come from a life lived in the creative industries. She is an energetic arts consultant, curator and media personality who champions artists.

Paula mentors emerging and established practitioners and has advised the Art Gallery of WA, commercial and university galleries, and local government cities, towns and arts centres. She was the foundation director of the Festival Fringe in WA, inaugurating curator for the St John of God Hospital Art Collection, and is well-known for her arts radio segments broadcast on commercial radio stations 94.5fm, 96fm and 6PR.

Presented as part of the City of Stirling's Mind Your Arts Program.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

We recommend that the workshop is suitable for 18 years plus.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Mount Flora Regional Museum is located off Elvire Street. Wheelchair and general disabled access is available from the car park to the ground floor and the park area. Off street parking is also available.

The 423 bus is the closest Transperth route servicing this location. Please refer to the Transperth website for more information.

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring your lovely selves and pens/pencils for writing. All other workshop materials will be provided. If you would like, you can bring drawings or images to use as inspiration.
