Yoga for Cancer & Palliative Care Teacher Training
Event Information
About this Event
This weekend training is designed for Yoga Teachers who want to better support their students and loved ones when they are experiencing cancer.
There are so many ways in which yoga including asana, pranayama, mudra, bhavana, philosophy, psychology and meditation can help. Yet there are also myths, risks and contraindications to be aware of so that yoga can be of most benefit.
The weekend will be both theoretical and practical and you will leave feeling better able to support people in your life during health issues and at the end of life, as well as run your own Yoga for Cancer programs in your community. We explore the pathways to survivorship and palliative care with sensitivity.
This weekend is facilitated by senior yoga teacher and registered yoga therapist Chandrika Gibson ND MWell C-IAYT PhD candidate in integrative oncology, who is formerly the Director of Wellness Education and Research at Solaris Cancer Care, and has previously facilitated yoga for Cancer Council WA and Cancer Support WA.
