We live in a world where we're constantly tethered to technology, absorbing information at an unprecedented rate, chronically rest-deprived like never before and flooded with stress hormones that cause us to burnout. It’s a little wonder that stress and anxiety are simply unavoidable. In fact, statistics show that anxiety is now the number one mental health problem in Australia, United States, and many other countries. Over time, chronic stress and anxiety can wreak havoc on ours minds and bodies, leaving us tense, short of breath, and at risk of sleep disorders, high blood pressure, digestive disorders, obesity, autoimmune diseases, adrenal problems, depression and heart disease. But there's a range of strategies we can use to alleviate anxiety and yoga is absolutely one of them.

This gentle 2 hour workshop with Australian-based Emma Ceolin will take you on a journey to soften back into yourself again and explore yoga as a tool to calm the nervous system. Emma shares her experience growing up with anxiety and how she manages it day-to-day with practical and accessible yoga techniques. Kick back and relax, sip on your warm herbal tea, nibble on delicious raw vegan chocolates and try soothing essential oils with this stress-to-bliss workshop. Learn about anxiety through science-based lectures, sharing, reflection, journalling, brainstorming, intention setting, pranayama (breathing) let-go techniques that interrupt anxious thought patterns, and longer held poses of yin yoga targeted at releasing tension, anxiety and trauma in 'stuck' areas to gain freedom from obstructions held in our bodies.

You’ll also be gifted with the Yoga for Anxiety eBook, and further support and recommendations like apps, podcasts and books to manage your anxiety. WHEN TO ARRIVE

Please aim to arrive a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the start time in order to check yourself in at reception and get yourself set up.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Emma Ceolin is founder of YOGAVENTURES and MNDFL Project as well as an international Yoga Teacher (RYT®500, E-RYT®200, RPYT®, RCYT®, YACEP®, IAYT®) who shares yoga for health, healing and happiness. Based in Brisbane Australia, Emma has over 1000 hours of yoga teacher training and experience teaching classes, workshops, retreats and teacher trainings in Australia, United States, Europe and Asia. She's also a skydiver, freediver, scubadiver, surfer, vegan, uni student and entrepreneur. Emma first found yoga as a therapy for anxiety and depression and it set her on a wellness journey that changed her life forever. She's now made it her heart's purpose to share yoga for the mental, emotional and energetic benefits and specialises in yoga for stress, anxiety and depression. Her self-reflective teachings are based around the 'do what feels good' method. Leave her heart-centred classes feeling more grounded, connected and aligned with what it is you actually seek.

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for everyone, of all backgrounds, experiences, size and age. All yoga postures will be practiced in a supportive, safe environment and suitable for absolute beginners. Please keep in mind this class is not individually tailored for special needs, pregnancies, pre-existing physical injuries, pain or concerns, and if present you should consult with your physician before commencing.

Is there an age limit for who can attend the Anxiety Workshop?
As anxiety begins to become present younger ages, this is a question we get asked a lot. If you are under 18 years of age you are welcome to attend however a parent / guardian must attend with you. We have had children attend from the ages of 7 - 17 years old.

What if the event is sold out?
If the event is sold out please add yourself to the waitlist via the Eventbrite booking page.

Can I transfer my registration to another event?
Sorry no transfers for countries outside of Australia.

What's the refund policy?
If you request a refund outside 7 days of the start date you will be entitled to a refund less £10 cancellation fee per ticket. Within 7 days of event your ticket is not refundable, transferable, creditable or compensational for any reason. Please keep this in mind when booking.

How many people attend the workshop?
This will depend on the studio size and the number of props available. As most workshops sell out and ther is often an extensive waitlist I try to accomodate everyone while honouring the nature of the workshop. Generally you can expect 20-40 people in the class. It’s important to remember these others are here for the same reason as you so there’s a beautiful sense of community in these workshops.

Are essential oils used in the workshop?
Essential oils are used in this workshop. If you have any specific allergies please email info@emmaceolin.com to notify the teacher at least 7 days before the workshop.
