Mikailah is Tasmanian born, graduated from Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences (B.App. Sc OT) 1980.
She worked for 5 years in Paediatrics and then began a Private Practice Consultancy in Sensory Integration around Tasmania (1987-1996). Makailah moved to Perth – twice (1996 – 2002 and 2005 -2013) attending numerous Body/Mind Centring Workshops led by the certified BMC Practitioner Alice Cummins.
In 2013, Mikailah began working in a Mental Health Team at the Psychology Caffe, Latrobe Tasmania.
The Say and Do Affirmations arose from the positive use of rhyming language within sensory based play in these sessions. The Affirmations explore motor planning and emotional regulation within play. Therefore the child can master relating within their internal world.
This process enhances adaptability to sharing of new ideas and more resilience around unpredictable changes in routines…… that is called “life” & the joy of living.
