About this Event
Yemanjá is an afro Brazilian deity but she is celebrated in many parts of Latin America, North America and Africa . Her roots originate in Nigeria from the Yorubá people. She is considered the main Ocean, water Orixá Goddess in Brazil represented as a mermaid.
She is the supreme energy that participated in the creation of the world. She stands for self affirmation, flow, empowerment, femininity, strength and the balance between feminine and masculine.
In this unique dance workshop we will explore 2 different sides of yemanjá. A mix of ritualistic elements of candomblé relig but also afro contemporary dance.
