Event description

Description

FIRST RoboCamps is a robotics activity program held at Macquarie University for school years K-12. This program is an exciting and engaging series of robotics-based holiday and weekend camps. From Beginner to Advanced camps, our RoboCamps utilize LEGO Mindstorms EV3 technology. FIRSTRoboCamps will take you from A-Z, creating a robotics pro in no time!

For the 2018 July school holidays, we have an exciting line up of 2-day camps! All camps are held on Macquarie University Campus, on the second level of Building E6A (9 Eastern Road), from 9:00am - 5:00pm (including drop off and pick up).

RoboCamps are partnership of FIRST Australia - an organisation that works to support robotics programs for students all over Australia the world,FIRST FRC Team 3132, the 2017 World Championship Chairman’s Award Winners, & Macquarie University. For more information, please contact Wynonah Bush: robocamps@ausfirst.org.

FIRST Australia offers team-based competition throughout the year delivered via four age appropriate programs for schools, community groups & home school students: FIRST LEGO League Junior (ages 6 – 9), FIRST LEGO League (ages 9 – 16), FIRST Tech Challenge (ages 14 – 16), & FIRSTRobotics Competition (ages 14 – 16). For more information on how your student, school or community group can get involved, please visit www.firstaustralia.org

All facilitators/instructors are trained and certified to work with children. Adults supervise and oversee the day-to-day operations. We also use experienced high school students from Macquarie University's most prestigious robotics program; these students are some of the brightest robotics minds we know! They will be helping with technical issues during the camp.
