Register and attend this 1-day course to best prepare for the Year 12 Science Extension Syllabus through this hands-on workshop, STANSW NESA Registered Professional Development.



Year 12 Background Theory for the New Chemistry Syllabus (Tuesday 22nd January 2019)

This course is aimed at helping Stage 6 Chemistry teachers learn the theory in the new Year 12 Chemistry syllabus. In particular, we will unpack the chemistry behind the new content. We will be examining:

  • Equilibrium and Acid Reactions

  • Acid/base Reactions

  • Organic Chemistry

  • Applying Chemical Ideas

  • Opportunities for Depth Studies

In addition, we will reflect on the progress of teaching the new Year 11 syllabus.


Registered Hours

Completing Year 12 background Theory for the New Chemistry Syllabus (Western Sydney) on 22nd January will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 1.5.2, 2.5.2, 3.2.2 & 6.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Professional development hours are accredited by Science Teachers’ Association of NSW Inc www.stansw.asn.au
